Your inbox Is too heavy…

…it can hold no more and has a hole in the bottom.  HAHA!! Well, I wish it did, then I wouldn’t have had to wade through 377 e-mails.  Guess it has been a REALLY long time since I have been able to get onto the internet.

I know some of you have been wondering where we are and “wazzup”.  Well… working, reading, fishing, painting and some gaming.

Knitting? not so much now that I the warm weather is here and we have our fishing licences.  My son and his GF visited us on Mother’s Day weekend, and I scored a nice magazine and a giant bar of chocolate.  My knitted egg has gone to live with him, since he took a liking to it. :)

Reading.  I’ve read all of the hunger games books.  I’ve never read so fast in my life! LOL.  My library card is nearly worn out.  I’ve been considering the benefits of an e-reader, and you know, it sure would come in handy.  On Monday the weather was so nice, that I took my bicycle out for a spin, and in my back pack went many light things… but I wanted most to bring my reading material.  Problem was that it was so heavy.  I left it home :(   Books have become my equivalent to lip gloss in one’s purse.  The other big benefit is that I wouldn’t have to travel to the library just to drop off a due book… it just get erased and no fine for being late.  Yup… must work on a way to get one of these light weight devices.

Fishing… I don’t know where all the fishes have gone… but they don’t seem as plentiful as last year!  We have revisited our old fishing holes and discovered some new ones.  Everyone we ask says the same thing.  Where are the fishies??!!

Work?  Well, we are fortunate enough to still have jobs.  Don’t laugh too hard, when I say that I do enjoy working (like all things in moderation;)  … really, though… if you have people you get along with and, most of the time, the public is nice and even funny… then, yea… It’s good.

Painting… Steve has been touching up some older works, but mostly he’s determined to find the fish ;)

Chief is chasing the June bugs that occasionally fly into our living room through the window THAT HAS NO SCREENS!!!  (can you tell that bugs me?)… yes, we made that request when we moved in, but it must have gotten lost in the landlords list of things to do. :(   I really, really, really really hate june bugs… (shiver).  Chief just bats then around like ping pong balls and hasn’t the courtesy to kill… only maim.

Gaming…lately focused on “Zelda Spirit Tracks” for Nintendo DSi System.  Challenging enough to keep me interested…. not so challenging that I have flushed the game cartridge. ;)   Skyrim hasn’t been touched in a while… but if it rains long enough… I will be hunting down some dragon!!

Thanks to my son’s gift magazine, I now know that there will be not one but THREE new Halo games for x-box 360.  Chief has been begging me to get the next one…(that’s my story and |I/m sticking to it).   Steve and I are both looking forward to the release of the latest season of “Breaking Bad”.

Well… this is life without cable television or internet.  You know it isn’t that bad… it’s un-demanding and you can’t get addicted to what you don’t have.  Besides… when I had hundreds of TV channels, there was never anything I wanted to watch.  Save money…borrow a book!  (KoBo)… whut… did I just type that? ;)   hehehe.

I Don’t Recommend…

… moving apartments during a snowstorm!!  Haha… but we got through it and are able to relax now in our new and better apartment here in Charlottetown.  Yes, indeed we stayed on our beloved Island, just moved closer to works, and we have an airport in our back yard, so we have built in entertainment! LOL… really, though, there isn’t as much air noise as you might think!

Master Chief (our cat) wasn’t convinced it was “home” until the TV and X-box showed up.  Guess he lives up to his name ;)

So I am unable at this computer to add photos, so you will have to wait until my next visit to the library for that.  Steve’s new gallery room is much bigger…

I am hearing rumors of a gallery showing/selling sometime this spring! ;)   He is just itching to show.

Gotta fly for now. Take care all!

I’m so EGGS-cited !!

Too punny ;)

Here is my latest little side project. A free pattern from Twinsblog mentioned in previous post.

I'm smiling because you cannot eat me.

Also finished a couple more dish cloths. One is a ribbed pattern that I sorta just made up. The other is from a pattern book. Why is it that my stitching never quite looks as good as the model pictures? hhmmm?

I love those vibrant colors, don't you?

has grown cold here and there is a couple of inches of snow on the ground, but it is covered in a nice thick ice :(   Snow coming tomorrow and the day after though.  Lucky I don’t have to go anywhere far.

My knitting has slowed, since I have 3 books that need to be finished.  “House at Riverton” by Kate Morton, “Distant Hours by same author, and “The Help” (same as movie, which I have not seen yet).  All borrowed books and I don’t want t o be late giving them back.

Gotta run… have a good week.  Next project has “flower Power, is grey, and in the wild, can be heard for miles. hehe. (that should keep your mind busy and confused until I post the picture)

If you don’t want snow…

then just buy a pair of snow shoes!!  I bought Steve a pair for Christmas and the snow just won’t stay on the ground.  We were looking forward to getting some exercise together.  It’s funny… when I bought my own snow shoes about 5 years ago, we didn’t have enough snow then either, that’s why I am convinced that this works.

So, in our world, there are only 2 seasons… fishing season and video game season.  We are now into video game season.   Steve got me the game called “Skyrim” (for Xbox system) for Christmas.  After hearing magazine reports that it was a fun game with a huge world to explore and crazy creatures, I settled on Skyrim as my choice as a present.

At first it was really hard for my 42-year-old brain to get used to how to find and equip objects that I was carrying.  Also the graphics are so dark!! and night-time seemed to drag on forever!  BUT  I stuck with it, and was quickly drawn into the story that I was choosing for myself.  I honestly would rather play (or watch Steve play) this game for hours, rather than watch television.

I am a female, mage, high elf in the game whose name is Lokri (currently level 13).  Steve is a hunky, male,  Nord warrior, named… (what else?), Steve.  Currently level 11… he’s catching up.

The world is crawling with dragons and other scary creatures that want nothing better than to have an “elf snack”.  So far, we have encountered dragons, trolls, giants, sabre cats, mammoth, fish, elk, fox, giant poisonous spiders, bear and rabbit.

The craziest thing I’ve seen so far, is when a giant swung at Steve and sent him into outer space!!  I haven’t laughed that hard in a while.  There goes his buff Nord flying through the air  with arms and legs flailing like a rag doll.  WHACK! and it’s “Huston… we have lift off!”.

Right now I am concentrating on adding deadly magic skills to my character.  Steve is getting a kick out of hunting all animals and occasionally going on a quest.

I did get a couple of other new games for Christmas.  Dead Island, Fall-out 3, and Boarder Lands, but I find it difficult to jump from one game to another successfully.   Maybe it’s an “aging brain” thing, but the control functions for each game are different, and effect my game success.  Very frustrating.  So, until I am bored of Skyrim, or fishing season starts up again… I am sticking with the one game.

What else… OH!  Knitting.  I’ve knitted a cup sleeve for my Mom’s birthday.  Forgot to get a picture of it though.  It has a pattern of a breast cancer ribbon around it.  Color, hot pink I guess.  I sent it with a note that said, “guess what this is”.  The guesses made me laugh out loud.  “Too small to go around the miniature poodle so, it’s not a sweater”.  Doesn’t fit around Mom’s neck, so not a cowl.  I will have to send something else by mail to hear her reaction.

There are a fair amount of free knitting patterns out there on the internet, but I found a blog that had adorable patterns and just had to make use of paypal.  Click TwinsKnit here and have a look.  Just waiting for my pattern, like a kid at Christmas.  I ordered the Happy Pets Trio.  I have a few of their patterns on my wish list.

Well, I gotta go check out Face Book to see what other people are up to, LOL.  Praying for snow… Sweetpea.
